Background

Stockton East Water District (SEWD) is pleased to administer the Surface Water Enhancement Grant (Surface Water EG) for our constituents. The Surface Water EG is a new opportunity offered by SEWD to provide funding for projects that provide access to surface water for growers that currently use groundwater. Through the Surface Water EG program SEWD aims to support local and regional efforts to conserve groundwater and improve water efficiency by providing funding to local growers.  

The objective of this funding opportunity is to invite eligible applicants to utilize District funds on projects that seek to conserve groundwater through the use of surface water, improve on-farm water resiliency, and accomplish other benefits that contribute to sustainability.

Application Process

Applications are due September 26th, 2025.

The application may be submitted one of the three ways:

1. Email the application and attachments to surfacewatereg@sewd.net.  
2. Hand deliver a hard copy of application and attachments to Stockton East Water District at 6767 East Main St. Stockton CA 95215.
3. Mail a hard copy of application and attachments to Stockton East Water District at PO Box 5157 Stockton, CA 95205.
