Meet - Patrick Marshall

Patrick Marshall, Maintenance Mechanic

Patrick has been with Stockton East since July 2024 and currently supports the Maintenance & Construction department. He appreciates working at SEWD because it constantly gives him the opportunity to learn and grow.

His path into the construction field wasn’t something he planned out step by step—it simply fell into place—but it’s turned into a role where learning alongside highly experienced and knowledgeable people is what he finds most rewarding.

Outside of work, Patrick enjoys working with fire agencies, an interest that reflects his respect for teamwork, discipline, and public service.

One thing many people may not know about Patrick is that he and his wife are dedicated caregivers to their autistic child, a responsibility that has shaped his patience, commitment, and sense of responsibility both at home and on the job.

"Patrick is one of our go-to expert equipment operators and someone I trust implicitly in the field. He is extremely safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and steady under pressure, exactly the kind of person you want operating heavy equipment or working in complex conditions. Patrick takes pride in doing things the right way, looks out for the people around him, and quietly sets a strong example of professionalism and care in everything he does."

Meet - Sheryl Morris

Sheryl Morris, Senior Water Treatment Plant Operator

Sheryl has been a valued member of Stockton East since October 2007, and currently serves as a Senior Water Treatment Plant Operator. She supports our constituents with a true can-do attitude and a deep commitment to producing safe, reliable drinking water.

Sheryl’s favorite part about working at Stockton East is the strong sense of community. She appreciates how all departments work closely together to ensure quality drinking water is delivered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Her career path in water treatment began when she worked as a labor trainee with East Bay MUD, and as she says, “the rest is history.”

The most satisfying part of Sheryl’s role is maintaining the fine balance of process control—including flow, dosage, and demand—especially during challenging rain events when water quality conditions change rapidly.

Outside of work, Sheryl enjoys ranch work with family and friends. She also loves teaching AG in the classroom, showing students how cattle are raised and cared for. A fun fact many people don’t know about her is that she enjoys woodworking projects using reclaimed barnwood.

Sheryl’s experience, dedication, and passion for both her work and her community make her an essential part of Stockton East Water District and a strong example of our core values.

"Sheryl brings 18 years of operations experience at SEWD and has been an outstanding operator on many levels. She does an exceptional job training new operators, teaching the small details that come together to form the big picture, especially when maintaining process control under stressful conditions. Her resilience, strong work ethic, and dependability truly stand out. Sheryl consistently goes above and beyond, often stepping in on unscheduled days, and she is someone the team can always count on."
